Comforting and reassuring, routines are important for both children and their parents. These rituals allow families to develop expectations and stay on track. If not too rigid or overbearing, routines allow children to develop assertiveness, make choices and become more independent.
This message is shared in the 2 short videos about routines at mealtimes and at bedtime, created by the Table de concertation petite enfance de Dorval-Lachine (Early childhood coordinating group for Dorval-Lachine).
These videos portray the reality of Lachine families and the community’s service providers, showing both the challenges and the solutions to allow our little ones to grow up in the best possible conditions.
